ALPHA, the optimum performance zone!
 We should all be very diligent in the process of accessing , changing, finding out about our alpha level.  Change the our level of Alpha waves by using various exercises to enable the maximum amount of alpha automatic responses possible for each individual.

Alpha Brainwave Zone!
Alpha Brain Waves:  less anxiety, promotes healthy immune system, allows for creativity and optimum performance, perform in the Zone,  Alpha IS the state of total alertness in the brain.  Awareness and complete relaxation possible as distractions are not allowed.  First brain wave to be named and discovered by it's electronic imprint on a graph. ALPHA:  This is the state of mind we can CHANGE.  SOME have inherent alpha superiority in their brains but everyone can train their brain to allow more alpha waves. BETA:  THE Worse brain wave.  This is the high anxiety, highest level of electronic pulse in the brain.  IT is the Alpha blocker.  This can result in low productivity and no creativity as it does not ignite the left side of the brain.  It is the result and cause of high medical bills!  All patients with health problems have high beta waves.  Delta is first gear!  It is the deep sleep and the slowest cycle of the brain waves.  THETA is second.  Many people use caffeine to go from Delta to theta but it actually raises to Beta level and is the cause of stress and supresses , yes caffeine supresses the production / stimulus of alpha brain waves.


SO, there is the analogy of Delta being first gear of a car, then Theta, then Alpha, then Beta.  IF you get out and start your car in first gear, Delta and go right to fourth gear, Beta, then how would you car run.  YES, you will finally get the car up to speed... but there is no warm up in the engine or time for the car to settle in and run well before you take off!  Waking up and drinking coffee with out any exercise or activity to make your body wake up and relax slowly and then go to Alpha for a while before you get to stressful traffic or work.  Allow time to go through the gears! 

I will talk more about how to make and change ALPHA... some of us are blessed with automatic ALPHA responses and that is when we are most creative, alive, in the zone, and relaxed to the point of having a total awareness and the left side brain is creatively awake!

There are four accepted brain wave electronic cycles in the brain.

Delta, 0-4 cycles first ,
Second is Theta at 4Hz-7Hz cycles
Third is ALPHA is 8Hz-12Hz cycles
and then Beta, 13Hz-40Hz cycles. 

Each pulse cycle has it's advantages and disadvantages. 
Without Delta, we would not be able to sleep deeply and would have insomnia. 
HIGH BETA has many problems which is discussed below. However, BETA waves are needed for many things. They are typically produced by the left hemisphere of your brain, but can be synchronized.  Each time you solve a tough math problem, logic puzzle, or read a book, your Beta Brain Waves kick in.  Allowing Beta waves to be used at certain times keep us from depression and help us when we need a little extra motivation. HIGH Beta, experiencing these waves in high levels, are the direct cause of stress and anxiety.  Persons with high Beta levels, which can be measured, need to often have exercises and even medications, alternative therapies such as relaxation and even meditation.  It is also important to use EEG/Biofeedback in order to control levels of BETA when we need then to be at a high normal function.  High function is about 30 cycles with the ability to relax when needed.  IT is not good to stay in any level of brain wave activity for hours upon end in a day.  
  That is why it is important to CULTIVATE brainwave flexibility and learn the functions of ALL the different brain waves and develope ways to use the different states of brain wave activity for levels of awareness at activate each function at our own voluntary discretion!  This will take time, practice, and many types of therapies.  Learning how to activate high levels of energy and then how to relax when we need to is worth the investment of time, money, and all different types of therapies. Find and explore all diagnostic tools, along with practice, practice, practice!
